Music you can use

One of the biggest headaches of working with video is the thorny areas around copyright. It’s better to avoid it entirely with music that you can legally use, even with clients.

The only problem with free/creative commons sources, are the headaches with copyright strikes. Ideally, you’d have a paid account with a group like Epidemic Sound or Artlist.

Prebuilt libraries

The following are tools with a library built-in or a download to add to your system

Adobe Rush has a built in music library in both mobile and desktop versions

Adobe Audition has the following library for download

————
Elgato Streamdeck . Loads of built in music

————

Blackmagic Fairlight Sound Library. You have to scroll down and find it - it’s a large download and without Resolve installed, you’ll have to manually find the music.

Adobe Rush Audio

Creative Commons

Creative Commons has several different licensing models.

The key ones you want are:

CC0 - in the public domain

CC BY 4.0 - which is commercially usable, but requires attribution

I highly recommend running through their license chooser to understand this better & in case you want to release your creative materials via CC

Penn State has a wonderful listing of numerous sources of either free media or media in the Creative Commons
