Remote Education/Training
Yes. You’re in the right place. This, of course, is due to the pandemic.
The quick answer: Yes, 100% I can setup professional-level remote training for you or your group today
The Long answer: 11 years ago, I was asked to teach 8 hour classes online. I tried it. It was a terrible experience for me and for the student. It was a chore for everyone. Nobody wanted to be there.
Training - Yes, I can teach your group directly. Please see my certifications page to get an idea what I feel comfortable teaching. If you're looking for a certified class, contact me as well, I'm happy to make a recommendation.
Speaking - Related to education, this would be seminar style training. I give somewhere between 50-70 talks a year. I'd love to do a talk at your event.
Consulting - I can help you iron out your workflow, such as picking hardware, whether or not to transcode, getting your compression 'right' (and understanding why it is or isn't looking good.)
Writing - As an author, yes, I can help your materials become formal statements. There's quite of bit of marketing and other communications work I've done for the major software companies and I can do it for you too!
And for the next 8 or so years, I kept trying to solve thisproblem. Trying to figure out how to make it feel like being in my classroom. How to make it useful and fun.
Good teaching is about the experience. Not just the information, but also how it's communicated.
The solution: About two years ago, I figured out how to make it work and work well.
It's about connection. Feeling like you (the attendee) are connected to the material, the software and yes, me the teacher. That's critical.
Suprise: Shorter classes, spread out, with lots of breaks. Hnnds on the software.
There's some setup - there's some pre-class setup to make sure it goes smooth as silk.
Great, so what classes do you offer? I'm a Master Trainer for the major editorial tools. I've been editing, coloring and teaching for over two decades. (In case you wondered, they're listed alphabetically. I love/hate them all!)
Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple FCPX, Avid Media Composer, BlackMagic Design Resolve.
It can be structured around topics: Workflow, Color, Editorial, Effects, Sound, Compression. Yes, even remote workflows or remote approval.
Perfer it around associated tools? Adobe Audition. BorisFX. Mocha for Editors. Adobe Media Encoder.
Wait, what about Adobe After Effects? ProTools? Passing the UAV drone certification? One of the best things is that I can bring in some great friends who teach the way I do (or I don't bring them in.)
In the COVID19 era, it also means the training can scale to need. In the past, solving your workflow problems was harder to justify. With everything remote - it's easier - as we're no longer trying to book the entire day.
Didn't see your tool? Your need? Ask.
My schedule is generally busy, so the earlier you contact me the more likely I can be of help!
